What makes me the perfect celebrant for your loved one's funeral ceremony

I am professionally trained with the Academy of Professional Celebrants; Formerly a Registrar with over 13 years of experience. A truly gifted funeral celebrant should be able to make every celebration of life or funeral service a unique and heartfelt experience that carefully balances solemnity with joyfulness for the life that is being remembered. I always strive to do this, and I find that it is the little things that can make an event, from ensuring early attendance on site or pre-check of slideshows through to providing a presentation copy of the script tied up with a favourite colour of the loved one to the family after the ceremony. All these little things add up to providing a seamless, stress-free, and moving experience for you as a family, which, of course, is paramount for you as you navigate the grieving process.

About Me

With over 13 years experience as a Registrar, I’ve officiated at hundreds of weddings across Gloucestershire. With its range of amazing Barns, Hotels, Castles, etc the list is endless for this gorgeous county to give you the venue right for you!

I have worked with local Funeral Directors, including Dignity, and I pride myself on good communication and teamwork with them. Both of us want to know you are being looked after, whether it is a small, intimate gathering or a large attendance. I have worked with people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities, children of all ages, and even animals.

I love the fact that the ceremonies I deliver can be held anywhere, not just at a crematorium. It can be a natural burial site, a hotel, your home, or a village hall. The flexibility of this can create a more personalised and easier way to say your final goodbye.

Having had a Father lost to dementia, I am empathetic to the loss of a loved one through this illness and again upon death. I worked within the NHS for over 23 years, am a current member of The Academy of Professional Celebrants with liability insurance and have continued support and mentorship to keep up to date with changes within the industry.

I am a rugby union fan of both Gloucester and England. In my downtime, I can be found in my garden, tending, enjoying making it look pretty and tended.

I love to see pictures of your loved one when I meet and hear about the music chosen, so I can write the service whilst listening to their favourite tunes.

Let me make a hard day become a day that you will feel supported, cared for and guided through.

Introduction to Celebrancy

For me, celebrancy is a truly rewarding career dedicated to helping people mark the most significant moments in life. Whether it’s a wedding, a naming ceremony, or a funeral service, as an experienced celebrant I always endeavour to bring warmth, empathy, and professionalism to every occasion. I have been professionally trained to conduct ceremonies that are as unique as the individuals and families they serve, ensuring that each event reflects the personality, beliefs, and wishes of those involved.

As a celebrant, my role goes far beyond simply leading a ceremony. It’s about taking time to support families through times of joy and sorrow, offering comfort and guidance, and creating a meaningful tribute that honours the life and story of each person. For funeral ceremonies, as an independent celebrant I work closely with local funeral directors to plan and deliver a service that truly celebrates the life of the person who has died in a smooth and stress free way as possible. Every detail, from the readings and music to the tone and length of the ceremony, is thoughtfully chosen to provide comfort and meaning.

I can recommend books to show younger children to help them prepare for the service ahead of the ceremony itself, or give the family other options to help them and the younger attendees on the day.

As an independent celebrant - I have the had the privilege to conduct ceremonies across a wide range of venues and I believe you can have your celebration of life at a crematorium, natural burial ground or even after a direct cremation, have a celebration of life to honour the loved one. I pride myself on being able to meet the unique needs of my clients, the ability to adapt, listen, and create a ceremony that feels personal and inclusive is at the heart of what I want for you and the people attending to pay their respects.
